The County Commissioners of Carroll County will hold a public hearing on Thursday, July 9, 2020, at 9:00 a.m. to hear public comments on a proposed amendment to the Ten Year Solid Waste Management Plan that would add a provision entitled “Office Building Recycling Plan” in the County’s Solid Waste Management Plan by October 1, 2020, that would require office buildings with at least 150,000 square feet of office space provide recycling receptacles for the collection of recyclable materials (cardboard, paper, plastic bottles, tin/aluminum cans) by October 1, 2021, if applicable, or within three months of being notified by the Carroll County Government or a municipality. This amendment is required as a result of the passage of Senate Bill 370 in 2019 by the Maryland General Assembly.

Please note that this hearing may be conducted virtually or in person. The Commissioners may make amendments to the proposal based upon the comments received at the hearing and may do so without further hearing. Therefore, it is important for interested persons to be present.
