Upper Monocacy River Watershed Restoration Plan
The Upper Monocacy River watershed was placed on Maryland’s 303(d) list of impaired waters for nutrients and sediments in 1996 and again for fecal bacteria in 2002. A Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) for Total Suspended Sediments (TSS) and bacteria were developed and approved in December of 2009 with a subsequent TMDL for phosphorus developed and approved in May of 2013 for the Upper Monocacy River watershed.
