On Tuesday, September 21, the Planning and Zoning Commission voted to forward proposed amendments to Chapter 155 (Development and Subdivision of Land) and Chapter 158 (Zoning) regarding residential development to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) for their review. A summary of the proposed changes, as well as the text amendments to both Chapters, may be found below. Over the next several months, the BCC will begin discussions of the proposed amendments and hold a public hearing to solicit input. In addition, the requests for rezoning on the Beaty (R20-05-2020-0042) and Zabel (R20-05-2020-0040 and R20-05-2020-0041) properties, which received a favorable recommendation from the Planning Commission on December 2, 2020, will be transmitted to the BCC for their consideration.
