Park Benches

Recreation and Parks are looking to add park benches to several of our parks with walking trails that are used frequently by all ages. This year’s campaign is focusing on Cape Horn Park in Manchester, Sandymount Park in Finksburg, and Deer Park in Gamber.  A donation of $1,500 will cover the purchase and installation of one (1) six-foot park bench over a concrete pad and a memorial plaque recognizing a person, organization, or business.

Freedom Park Matching Gift Challenge

An anonymous donor recently committed to match donations to the Park Legacy Fund up to $200,000 for the purchase and installation of additional play equipment at Freedom Park in Sykesville. The goal is to add a destination play feature to the park that will be enjoyed by residents and visitors for many years to come. All donation amounts are welcome in an attempt to fully maximize the benefit of this incredibly generous matching offer.
