The next examination for Carroll County Electrical Licenses will be given at 9:00 am on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at the Carroll County Public Training Center, located at 50 Kate Wagner Road, Room 107, Westminster, MD 21157. Upon entering the Training Center, you will be required to have your temperature taken, answer a series of questions related to the wellness check and show your driver’s license.
Each applicant must provide this office with letters verifying at least seven (7) years’ experience under a licensed Master Electrician, a completed application form and a registration fee of $50.00 prior to the examination. The registration fee shall be made payable to the Carroll County Commissioners.
The test consists of code questions, Ohm’s law, theory and mathematics associated with the electrical trade. You will be given four (4) hours for the test, so please be prompt. No extra time is given to latecomers.
This test is an open book exam; therefore, you may only bring the CURRENT edition of the 2017 National Electrical Code book. NEC Handbook and other books or notes are not permitted; no notes or written material will be allowed in the testing area. You may bring a non-programmable calculator, all other electronic devices, including cell phones, are prohibited.
