Westminster, MD, Monday, September 14, 2020 – Carroll County Department of Planning invites all interested residents to join in a virtual open public meeting (webinar) on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm regarding text changes to the county’s residential zoning code.  The purpose is to inform the public of the process, status of changes, and path forward.  There will be interaction with participants and an opportunity to answer questions on the material presented.

The Department of Planning is resuming the residential zoning review as part of the county’s comprehensive rezoning initiative.  Started in the spring of 2018, Planning worked with a citizen focus group to review planning concepts and master plans and taking feedback from this group to develop draft revisions of the residential zoning districts.  After delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the process is moving forward using virtual methods. The hope is to have more and continuous public engagement into the development process.
