Westminster, MD, Friday, May 29, 2020 – After many weeks of reduced staff due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bureau of Permits and Inspections began operating with a full staff on Thursday, May 28, 2020. We appreciated our customers patience as our reduced staff levels caused a slowing of the permit and inspection process.

Now with full staff in operation, we are committed to catching up on backlogged submittals and will work diligently to process permits to ensure applications are moving through the system more efficiently. The bureau will use additional resources from other agencies to assist in this effort. The building remains closed to the public at this time and the same drop off procedures are in place.

In order to protect staff, barriers were installed between team members and some staff have been relocated in other areas to further increase physical distancing. Our goal is to ensure employee safety while also meeting the customers’ needs.

To better serve our customers and speed the process, customers should first check their permit status online at https://ccg.carrollcountymd.gov/PermitInquiry/. Reduced phone calls during this time will assist staff in processing more requests. The address blocks on the site can be used to perform the search. If the permit is processed, customers can view the remaining holds prior to permit issuance. If the permit is not yet processed, the details will not show within the search and we request you please try again the following day.

Your permit is important to us and staff is committed to returning to normal processing timeframes as quickly as possible.

Thank you again for your patience and assistance during this unprecedented and challenging time.
