Public Meeting for Annual Area Plan for Aging and Disabilities
The Carroll County Division of Aging and Disabilities invites residents, community partners, and stakeholders to attend a public meeting on Tuesday, April 7th, from 10 am -11:30 am at the Westminster Senior and Community Center, 125 Stoner Ave. Westminster to provide input on the county’s 2027-2030 Area Plan.
The Area Plan serves as a roadmap for how DoAD will promote, support, and deliver essential services for older adults and other populations through 2030. Community feedback is an essential part of this process and helps ensure that programs reflect local needs and priorities.
DoAD administers a wide range of services for adults age 60 and older, individuals with disabilities, caregivers, and veterans of any age. As a Maryland Access Point site, DoAD serves as a single point of entry to connect individuals and families with resources for long-term services and support.
The proposed Area Plan will outline how the county will provide services in key areas, including:
· Meals and Nutrition programs
· Community Services and enrichment programs
· Dementia Navigation Services
· Advocacy and Support
· Case Management Referrals and support services
· Medicare education and enrollment assistance
· Veteran Services
· Disability programming and supports
