Carroll County Offering a VIRTUAL Workshop for Those Living with Chronic Conditions
Westminster, MD, Thursday, February 19, 2026 – The Carroll County Division of Aging & Disabilities (DOAD) will offer a free virtual Living Healthy, Living Well with Chronic Conditions workshop, beginning Thursday, March 5th.
The Chronic Conditions Self-Management workshop is a series of sessions for adults of all ages who have ongoing health problems, such as arthritis, high blood pressure, depression, cancer, or heart disease, or who live with someone who does. Originally developed at Stanford University, the Living Healthy, Living Well workshops are part of an evidence-based Self-Management program that has been proven effective in helping attendees manage their health and chronic conditions. The program offers demonstrated health benefits and complements the medical care and management services people receive from their healthcare providers.
The workshop consists of six virtual sessions, held on Thursdays beginning March 5, 2026, through April 9, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Living Healthy, Living Well workshops provide a hands-on opportunity to discover practical solutions that fit participants’ lives, health concerns, and pain management needs. Attendees can build confidence to make healthier choices and improve their overall well-being. Participants create weekly action plans, share experiences, and support one another in developing and implementing their personal self-management strategies.
The Division of Aging & Disabilities (DOAD) is pleased to offer this program virtually at no cost to those 60 years of age and older, with a small fee for those aged 59 and younger.
