Carroll County State of Emergency
Westminster, MD, Friday, January 23, 2026 – In light of the anticipated extreme weather event predicted for the Carroll County area and in order to ensure access to all possible resources, Commissioner Vigliotti, on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners, declared Carroll County to be in a State of Emergency.
Commissioner Vigliotti says, “It is important to declare a State of Emergency in the interest of the safety and well-being of the members of our community, ensuring that all possible resources and emergency assets are available should they be needed. We are better to be safe and prepared than not.
Please be safe, look after loved ones and neighbors, and if you don't have to go out on the roads, stay home. Have patience with all of the road crews and emergency services who will be out through the course of the storm. If you have an emergency, call 911.”
