Westminster, MD, Tuesday, June 24, 2025 – The Carroll County Department of Public Works invites interested persons to attend an informal public information meeting concerning the replacement of three bridges in the county:

Bundled Bridge Project:
Bridge No. CL-243 on McKinstrys Mill Road over Sams Creek
Bridge No. CL-264 on Hughes Shop Road over Bear Branch
Bridge No. CL-363 on Stone Chapel Road over Little Pipe Creek

The purpose of the project is to replace existing single-span steel bridges with new single-span prestressed concrete adjacent slab bridges.  The new structures will be constructed in the same locations as the existing bridges. 

Each road will be closed to through traffic, and a detour will be established to divert traffic around the project.  The roads will remain open to local traffic.    

• Detour for McKinstry Mill Road will utilize Sams Creek Road and MD 31
• Detour for Hughes Shop Road will utilize Pleasant Valley Road, Halter Road, and Stone Road
• Detour for Stone Chapel Road will utilize Medford Road and MD 31.

The informational meeting will acquaint the public with the scope of the project, detour route's and provide an opportunity for the community to express any comments or concerns.  Carroll County Bureau of Engineering staff will be available to answer questions.  There will be no formal presentation.  Feel free to arrive anytime between 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm.
