From time to time, zoning code text is reviewed and modified to meet the changing market dynamics and to address other unforeseen, but necessary issues.  These changes can be initiated by an applicant or the County.   Applicants can initiate the process by contacting the Planning and Land Management Department and requesting a meeting with the Director to discuss the proposed changes.  The request is then brought before the Board of County Commissioners to refer to the Planning and Zoning Commission for their review and recommendation to the Board.  The Planning and Zoning Commission determines if these changes are consistent with the County Master Plan and other applicable plans and forwards these recommendations back to the Board of County Commissioners for a Public Hearing and subsequent Adoption (see the diagram below).
