(September 9^th 2024) – Beginning September 9th at 6 a.m., CSX Transportation will close the grade crossing on Newport Rd. between Woodbine Rd. to Old Frederick Rd. and Waterville Rd. in Carroll County, Maryland, to make repair. Weather permitting, CSX will re-open the Newport Road crossing late September 12th.

CSX is replacing the surface at the railroad crossing and re-paving the railroad approaches.  The signed detour route includes Newport to Woodbine to Old Frederick and back to Newport Rd.  

Through-traffic wishing to travel west or east on Woodbine Rd. will be detoured around the crossing using Newport to Woodbine to Old Frederick and back to Newport Rd.  Detour signs will be in place to guide drivers around the closing
