CSX to Close Section of Hoods Mill Road in Carroll County for Rail-crossing Repairs

(July 15, 2019) – Beginning Tuesday, July 16th, at 6 a.m., CSX Transportation will close the grade crossing on Hoods Mill Road near MD-97 in Carroll County, Maryland, to make repair. Weather permitting, CSX will re-open the Hoods Mill Road crossing late Thursday, July 18th.
CSX is replacing the surface at the railroad crossing and re-paving the railroad approaches. The signed detour route includes MD-97 and Hoods Mill Road.
Through-traffic wishing to travel north or south on Hoods Mill Road will be detoured around the crossing. Detour signs will be in place to guide drivers around the closing. Northbound drivers can avoid the crossing by following MD-97 to Hoods Mill Road. Southbound drivers would follow the reverse, MD-97 south to Hoods Mill Road.
