CSX to Close Section of Morgan Station Road in Carroll County for Rail-crossing Repairs

(July 15, 2019) – Beginning Wednesday, July 17th, at 6 a.m., CSX Transportation will close the grade crossing on Morgan Station Road between Old Frederick Road and Hoods Mill Road in Carroll County, Maryland, to make repair. Weather permitting, CSX will re-open the Morgan Station Road crossing late Friday, July 19th.
CSX is replacing the surface at the railroad crossing and re-paving the railroad approaches. The signed detour route includes Old Frederick Road, MD 94 (Woodbine Road) and Hoods Mill Road.
Through-traffic wishing to travel north or south on Morgan Station Road will be detoured around the crossing. Detour signs will be in place to guide drivers around the closing. Northbound drivers can avoid the crossing by following Old Frederick Road west to MD 94 (Woodbine Road), Woodbine Road north to Hoods Mill Road, and Hoods Mill Road east to return to Morgan Station Road. Southbound drivers would follow the reverse, east on Hoods Mill Road to left on Woodbine Road, south on Woodbine to left on Old Frederick Road, east on Old Frederick Road to Morgan Station Road.
