Tim Beavers

Outreach Services of Carroll County Public Library had a vision for families to engage in reading while promoting health and exercise. Through collaboration with the Department of Recreation & Parks and the Partnership for a Healthier Carroll County, that vision turned into reality with a Story Stroll at Deer Park and at Leister Park. The heavy lifting of this project was made possible by a special volunteer, Tim Beavers. Tim led Girl Scout Troup 10236 on the Deer Park project and led a group of homeschool kids with the Leister Park project. He provided his workshop, equipment and his wood working skills in the construction of over 40 stations, teaching the kids along the way. In addition to building the stations, Tim ensured they were placed correctly into the ground. This project was made possible not only by local organizations coming together, but by the dedication and commitment to community, as seen by Tim and all his helpers. That is why the Department of Recreation & Parks would like to announce Tim Beavers as our 2022 Volunteer of the Year.
