Upcoming Hearings

The County Commissioners of Carroll County will hold a  public hearing on  Thursday, April 9, 2020, at 9:00 a.m., in Room 311, Carroll  County  Office  Building,  225  North  Center Street, Westminster, Maryland, 21157, to hear public comments on the Carroll County Public Housing Authority Streamlined Annual Plan for FY20. The Plan establishes the guidelines and procedures to be followed by the Carroll COLmty Bureau of Housing in the administration of the Federal Section 8 Program. The FY20 Annual Plan includes updates to enable the  County to promote adequate and affordable housing, economic opportunity and a  suitable living environment free from discrimination for eligible low and moderately low-income persons who live or work in Carroll County.

The Commissioners may make amendments to the proposed plan based upon the comments received at the hearing and may do so without further hearing. Therefore, it is important for interested persons to be present at the hearing.

Anyone requiring an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication should contact the American with Disabilities Act Coordinator at 410-386-3600 or 1-888-302-8978 (MD Relay Service 7-l-l/1-800-735-2258) as soon as possible but no later than 72 hours before the scheduled event so that arrangements may be made.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The County Commissioners of Carroll County will hold a public hearing on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at 9:00 a.m., in Room 311 of the County Office Building, 225 North Center Street, Westminster, Maryland, 21157, to hear public comments on a proposed amendment to the Code of Public Local Laws and Ordinances of Carroll County, Title VII, Traffic Code, which would create Chapter 71, School Bus Monitoring Cameras.  Specifically, Chapter 71 would authorize the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office to issue civil citations to drivers committing motor vehicle violations related to overtaking and passing school vehicles, through the use school bus monitoring cameras designed to capture recorded images of drivers committing such violations.

The Commissioners may make amendments to the proposed legislation based upon the comments received at the hearing and may do so without further hearing.  Therefore, it is important for interested persons to be present.

The Americans with Disabilities Act applies to the Carroll County Government and its programs, services, activities, and facilities.
