The County Commissioners of Carroll County will host public hearings on Thursday, October 3, 2019, at 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm in Room 003 of the County Office Building, 225 North Center Street, Westminster, Maryland, 21157, to receive public comments on proposed amendments to the Carroll County Code of Public Local Laws and Ordinances in Chapters 155, Development and Subdivision of Land, and 158, Zoning.  Specifically, the Board is considering the following:

Chapter 155:

  • The modification of certain definitions;
  • The deletion of references to the B-NR, B-G, I-R and I-G Districts;
  • The addition of references to the C-1, C-2, C-3, I-1, and I-2 Districts;
  • The clarification of certain uses in the parking space requirements; and
  • The amendment of the Planned Business Center regulations.

Chapter 158:

  • The addition, modification, and deletion of certain definitions;
  • The deletion of the B-NR, B-G, I-R and I-G Districts;
  • The establishment of the C-1, C-2, C-3, I-1, I-2, and Employment Campus Districts, including Purposes, Principal Uses, Accessory Uses, Regulations, and Bulk Requirements; and
  • The establishment of new provisions for Business Parks and Industrial Parks.

NOTICE OF INTENT TO PURCHASE LAND

 The County Commissioners of Carroll County, Maryland, announces its intent to purchase all of those tracts or parcels of land in the 14th Election District of Carroll County, Maryland, situate at or near Hoods Mill Road and Old Washington Road, Woodbine, Maryland, 21797, Map 77, Parcel 271 containing 1.409 acres of land, more or less AND Map 77, Parcel 494 containing 3.459 acres of land, more or less from the State Highway Administration Department of Transportation for Sixty-Two Thousand One Hundred Fifty Dollars and Ninety-Seven Cents ($62,150.97).  The land is being purchased for future road and utility use.

The County Commissioners will decide whether or not to purchase this property at a public meeting to be held no sooner than fifteen days from the date this notice appears. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

 

The County Commissioners of Carroll County will hold a public hearing on Thursday, October 17, 2019, at 9:00 a.m. in Room 311, Carroll County Office Building, 225 North Center Street, Westminster, Maryland, 21157, to hear public comments on proposed amendments to Chapter 170, Construction Codes, regarding building, electrical, and plumbing codes affected by the State’s adoption of the Maryland Building Performance Standards COMAR 05.02.07 on January 1, 2019.  The County is required to adopt those standards at the local level within twelve months of the State’s adoption.    
The Commissioners may make amendments to the proposed legislation based upon the comments received at the hearing and may do so without further hearing.  Therefore, it is important for interested persons to be present.
The Americans with Disabilities Act applies to the Carroll County Government and its programs, services, activities, and facilities. Anyone requiring an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication or who has a complaint should contact The Department of Citizen Services, 410-386-3600 or 1-888-302-8978 or MD Relay 7-1-1/1-800-735-2258 as soon as possible but no later than 72 hours before the scheduled event.
