Westminster, MD, Thursday, September 11, 2025 – The Board of Carroll County Commissioners and county staff welcome Susan Krebs as the next District 5 commissioner. She was nominated by the Carroll County Republican Central Committee, then appointed by Governor Moore, and today was sworn in to serve out the remainder of Commissioner Ed Rothstein’s term.

Krebs earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Towson State University.  She began her career in public service in 1998 on the Carroll County Board of Education and went on to serve 20 years as a Delegate in the Maryland General Assembly. She is widely respected for her dedication and remains a steadfast advocate for the values that define Carroll County.

Susan Krebs Appointed Commissioner for District 5

Carroll County has been home to Krebs, her husband, and now 3 grown children for over 40 years.  She has 7 grandchildren who are her pride and joy. In her spare time, she has been spotted on the Pickleball Courts at the South Carroll Senior Center and out and about supporting various community events.  Krebs shared, “This unexpected opening in the Commissioner’s office drew me back to my roots in the Freedom community, where there is a lot of activity going on that can impact our entire county.  I look forward to once again representing the best interests of the great citizens we have here in Carroll County.”
