Carroll County Offering FREE VIRTUAL Workshop for Those Living with Diabetes

Westminster, MD, Monday, April 28, 2025 – Beginning May 14th, the Carroll County Bureau of Aging & Disabilities (BOAD) will offer a free virtual workshop for Living Healthy, Living Well with Diabetes.
Diabetes Self-Management is a workshop for adults of all ages who have been diagnosed with diabetes, pre-diabetes, or who live with someone that does. Originally developed at Stanford University, the Living Healthy, Living Well workshops are part of an evidence-based self-management program that has been proven effective in helping attendees manage their diabetes. The program has proven health benefits and complements the diabetic medical management services people receive from their providers. The workshop consists of six sessions, held virtually on Wednesdays beginning May 14, 2025, from 9:00 am to 11:30 am.
Living Healthy, Living Well workshops offer a hands-on opportunity to discover solutions that work with life, health concerns, and pain. With support in a Living Healthy, Living Well program, attendees can build confidence to make new choices and feel better. Participants create weekly action plans, share experiences, and help each other solve problems in creating and implementing their personal self-management program.
BOAD is pleased to offer this program virtually, at no cost to the public. If the lack of technology prevents interested participants from participating in online BOAD and senior center programs, please contact Erica Starr at 410-386-3800 for assistance.
