FY2023 Budget Announced for Public Comment
Westminster, MD, Tuesday, April 26, 2022 – Today, the Board of County Commissioners unveiled its proposed budget for fiscal year 2023, which begins July 1, 2022. The $501.3 million General Fund, which authorizes day-to-day expenses, sees an increase of $27.1 million from FY2022. The budget proposes no tax rate increase for FY2023. The proposed FY2023 Budget will be available for public viewing on the county’s website by the end of this week.
Carroll County Management and Budget Director Ted Zaleski presented an overview to the board today. Next, Mr. Zaleski will host five community meetings at library branches to review and explain the budget. All interested residents are encouraged to attend.

A Budget Public Hearing is scheduled to be held in person at the Carroll County Arts Center located at 91 W. Main Street in Westminster on Tuesday, May 10th at 7:00 pm. The meeting will be live-streamed for viewing purposes, but participation must be in person. Those unable to attend the public hearing but wish to comment may submit any questions or concerns directly to Director Zaleski at email@example.com.
Additional budget work sessions may be held by the commissioners to make any modifications to the proposed budget based on the information received during the Budget Public Hearing. Formal adoption of the FY2023 budget is scheduled for Tuesday, May 24, 2022.
